The Good Life Y'all!

Kellabama reporting back in the SOUTH and it feels so good....well besides the brutal temperatures outside right now but I am back in air conditioning with my family and my own queen size bed. The past few days have been so amazing. My flight into Atlanta was super smooth and on time and it was great, I bought the book "The Help" at  Bradley Airport and I never put the book down until we landed in Atlanta, it is such a good book!  Right when we land and the flight attendant comes over the intercom and announces that cell phones are now okay to turn on the very first sound I hear is the camp phone ringtone...I couldn't help but bust out laughing while everyone just stares at me on the plane.  I then get off the plane and head  to my gate for my connecting flight to Birmingham.  The flight was only 28 minutes long but it felt like 3 hours because I was so excited to be home. After waiting at the baggage claim for a few minutes I lug all my large bags out to the pick up where Amy, Mary Shelton, and Jeffrey greet me....best welcome back ever! So exciting to see everyone! We then head back and I get to see my boy Jack
Mary Shelton and I then drive over to Sabbath Adrianne and Kaley's apartment to say hi and catch up and play a game of fishbowl with all the soccer girls.  It was so good to see everyone!!
The next day I plan on sleeping in but of course 8 am rolls around and something of course happens...I hear a scream from Amy and Jack had just let things fly from both ends (i'll spare yall the details) so off we go to the vet to find out he has something wrong with his colon but nothing a shot and some meds don't help with.  After that crazy adventure I couldn't go back to sleep so I try and get all my school situated but find out everyone is not back in the office until Monday.
Mary Shelton and I then go to Urban Cookhouse for lunch and talk about possible future job opportunities which was so exciting to hear about.
After a few Friday Night Light Episodes and laundry loads later I head out to Dinner with the newly engaged couple and some friends, we then go back to Pat's apt and find this thing in a box....i'm still confused
After an entertaining night at the Blue Monkey we all call it a night and head to bed.
Once again being woken up by Jack at 8 but this time he jumps up on my bed and tries to cuddle and lick my face till I'm clearly up and ready to play with him.  I then decide to drive home
Ready to Go to Auburn!
So now after a fun and spoiled day of pampering with my mom I have finally gotten a chance to update my blog.
Mother Daughter Day we took the dogs on a walk, got my hair cut, went to the farmers market, did a little shopping, had a home cooked meal, went and got Ice Cream at Brusters, watched Jersey Shore with JJ and then called it a night.  Life is so good!
I found this on my bed...thanks Big Girl

So Excited to See Him!
Peace and Blessings!! Good luck to every one that is at pre season!! :)

Back To The Beginning

I am back to where I started....back at the DiCicco's house for the night watching/dozing off to Nick and Drew playing video games at their house while Mrs. Diane and I try and figure out what the point of the game is
You can't see the second TV in this pic but they are both zoned in....freaks

. My flight tomorrow leaves at 330 and gets into Bham at around 730!
Today could not have gone any better, it was a great last couple of days at camp.
Last night my girls, Deerfield High, dominated their skit. Each team had to come up with a skit and perform it during lecture, I came up with the idea to do upside down man (watch video below) and then Ben and the girls had the idea to "stitch" one of the staff members and since Doody was their coach last year they picked him.  So we found a pie and tricked Doody into being in our skit. Just enjoy the video :)

After that I finished all the camp finance and camp store inventory later the next day.
Right before the skit I was in charge of picking up the pizza so off  I go to Dominoes to find our boy John working, thank goodness I was on the phone with Nat the whole time so no conversation was made...(Julia I gave him your number instead :) )  when the pizza wasn't ready I walked to the gas station next door and found this....delicious!
.85 for this bad boy

After the skits, and cleaning up all the whip cream from the pie the staff goes around checking rooms and then just hangs out for a while....Gary, one of the guys on staff, falls asleep early and we decide to decorate his door
Don't Go To Sleep Early on the Last Night!
So after breakfast this morning we all head out to play the last star wars game of the summer.....needless to say it was AWESOME and it was in the pouring down rain so that made it ten times better. The team I played on was made up of some of the Deerfield girls and of course I look around and ALL of us have pearls on, LOVES IT!  So after the torrential down pour and lunch camp ends, campers pack up while Patty Dre and I count inventory, and clean up the camp store.  I packed up my room and realized I have way too much clothes and not enough space in my suitcase (2 suitcases) so after finding a third suitcase I'm all packed up and ready to go. I turn in the camp phone (I think the sky opened at this point) and say my final goodbyes to everyone that is still there.  We head back to Wethersfield and I of course order Village Pizza since I probably will never experience this amazing pizza ever again...unless I work next year :)
Oh and Drew's dog Socrates is finally back so he came and hung out at camp with us for the past couple of days. He was sprayed by a skunk last night  but is the cutest dog even though he smells like skunk.

Socrates...prior to being skunked

So Cute!
This time tomorrow I will be in bham and I am so excited. I cannot believe this summer is almost over, it has been such an amazing and eye opening summer. I have gained so many awesome friendships out of this summer and it has been such a learning experience. I'm so glad I went out of my comfort zone and traveled across the US helping admin soccer camps with strangers that  turned into great friends and my family for the summer. SoccerPlus thank you so much for an amazing summer, it will never be forgotten.
found this on my phone....Bobby
Adrianne..this is for you, they had homemade whoopie pies at the dining hall today and it made me think of you :)

One Team One Family

I have a few days left until my internship is over :( It has been such a great experience and I can honestly call these people my summer family. They have been so welcoming and so awesome this summer and I'm sad it's coming to an end but excited to be home on Tuesday as well. From Friday to Monday is Team Camp which we call camp jolly good times because it's a bunch of high school teams training for preseason so its a much more relaxed and laid back camp.  I actually get to be Pink's assistant for the Deerfield's girls team, which has been awesome so far...they were joking at dinner that I fit right in with them because they all wear pearls just like me! At nights I get to jump in and scrimmage as well so that has been fun even though I'm a bit rusty.
My last registration of the summer went so smooth on Friday which was so exciting.  The morning of check out was of course hectic but there were no major problems so that was a success! Printing off evaluations were of course a problem (lady at Staples was sooo slow) but I got back in time for the SoccerPlus send off which I have missed this whole summer.
The past few days have been so much better than last week (or my last blog post where I apparently sounded like I was having a miserable time according to Pink and Mecchi...hahaha I tend to get a bit dramatic when blogging). We had our last session of star wars and last pressure training. No more printing off evals but on Friday  it was so sad saying goodbyes to everyone :(
Julia: I have taken over Pizza Master and I have spoken on the phone with Pizza John the past two
nights....barf
Bobby: I have listened to your voicemail at least 3 times just to get a good laugh
So when explaining to Pink what day my flight was on and talking about how excited I was to go home he informed me that I had the date wrong (go figure) I come home Tuesday not Monday...haha
This week during camp has been so much more calm and less stressful...so far 0 parents have called and it has been great...there have been no lines in the cafeteria and there are no other camps here...plus this camp is all girls and they are all on teams so there is no drama with campers...(so far)
Drew's dog Socrates got here today and we took him down to the river to let him jump in for a swim. He's a white lab and soo pretty.
I'm so torn that this summer is coming to an end...it's ending on a super high note but sad to go back to reality but also excited to see my family and friends when I get back and have about a week before school starts.
Hopefully I will get another blog in before this amazing journey comes to an end but for now I must got pick up the campers Pizza!

Peace and Blessings

the final kick

I should probably be working right now but I realized I haven't blogged in a few days and I didn't know how much time I would get to blog before I leave to go home..............ahhhhhh I'm so excited to go home!!! :)
So here are a list of events and stories that have happened in the past couple of days
After Boston we all just "hooted with the owls" on Sat after an amazing cook out and then jumped in the river, went on a few golf cart trails (one entailing Julia and I get lost on a trail for a good 30 min) setting up registration and then the week has flown by since then....well sort of
Monday might have been the longest day of the summer (which then turned into Tuesday) a few times during the day I just shut the camp store and put my head down.....I'm drained but just want to get through the next week. After a long day ( I can't even remember what went on during the day) we have our pizza and staff meeting and when Julia and I are finishing up doing room checks and lights out I find out I have to take a kid to the hospital for a stomach ache....murrrr here is an hour by hour of what happened
midnight-leave for the hospital
1230-make it into a room where the nurse draws his blood and writes down his information
1-here screaming noises from an abused patient in the room next  to us about her bruised ribs and chest and her arm (she then starts yelling at the nurses)
we also are watching the documentary on how osama was killed for 1 hour by now
2-Dr, who looks like he is 14, walks in and tells him to drink some drink to make his stomach feel better
230 fall asleep on 2 chairs, wake up to drunk patients walking into every ones rooms and nurses chasing them around
3 still sleeping on two chairs, nurse finally gives both of us blankets because we were shivering in the room
4 Dr and Nurse come back to tell us that they didn't see anything wrong with him
415 go back to sleep in the chairs as we wait for the discharge papers
445 finally get the papers and leave with the same problem we had going in...a stomach ache
5 go to cvs to get some otc medicine
515 drive back just in time to see the sunrise
530 go to sleep
walking zombie the rest of the day...but life is good! :)
We have about 96 campers coming in for the team camp and no idea how many are staying for staff because a majority of the staff are leaving for preseason or going back to their normal lives so who knows what is going to happen! (maybe I will get to be a staff coach...haha)
The camp store is still going strong...Ziggy (legendary soccerplus staff coach) comes in about every 30 minutes looking at gloves and reorganizing the whole entire glove selection, and i have unlocked at least 30 rooms this week.
The last Wednesday pressure training was this morning. Now everyone is either writing evals or napping while I get to sit in the camp store and sell stuff and blog!

Crazy to think that this time next week I will be home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you can't tell I'm so excited

SoccerPlus This Is Kelly

I have already begun to hear the camp phone ringing in my sleep, it haunts me in my dreams hahaha...not really But I cannot tell you how many times I have answered the camp phone (which is just in case of an emergency PARENTS!)
*note to self when I have children and send them off to camp I will not bother the staff with DUMB questions, I will trust the staff with my kid the whole week, and I will teach my kids how to be social rather than them sit in their rooms with their cell phones and ipads by themselves and then claim they are homesick and he hasn't made any friends....geee duhh I wonder why not?
At this camp their are so many opportunities to make new friends right off the bat but kids these days are so caught up in technology that they don't even interact with anyone and do not know how to carry on conversations without looking down at their phone at least once every five minutes.
Okay well i'm done with that rampant I just had to put that out there.
This camp has gone pretty smoothly though...I have gained my voice back and my sinus infection and Bronchitis are almost gone.  I "got" to be the only admin this week at the biggest camp rounding out with a total of 220 campers in 2 separate dorms wooo....but now looking back it's neat to say I walked out of this past week alive :)
This week has been fun though, it's been a lot more work then the past so I didn't get to go down to the fields and join in as much as I have in the past but I was able to jump in the NTC group one night and play on the staff team and won the small sided tournament. I was able to be a server for a session because Julia hurt her wrist....I got to help out in a demo (in which I scored on Louis....sorry I had to)
Julia and I were able to walk down a few times to the river and soak up the sun and chat about life during the week, we took many needed golf cart rides, and one trip to the hospital (in Vermont) to get her wrist looked at but turned into a nice get away adventure from camp for a few hours....the camp phone didn't have service in the hospital...tear
Here are a list of events that happened this past week
I got to be a lifeguard for a swim session
Pushed in the pool by drew
Played Star Wars
Planned a trip to Six Flags (failed once again)
Hooted with the Owls every night in the only place that has AC in the these dorms (the Hostile)
Dealt with printing off evals which is always more of a hassle than it should be
***gold star for me for getting up for every breakfast
I get to ride around in a big truck every day
Played a huge game of star wars
Drove to Boston
The trip to Boston was a success/failure
after leaving 5 hours late for Boston Julia Fletch Bobby and I arrive in Beverly and take a Taxi into Boston, well our Taxi driver (clone of woodstock) has no idea where he is going, has no GPS and pretends to look at a map after he pulls over twice. Not to mention we almost die as well as a few pedestrians at least three times because of his driving.  It makes it worse when he has the world's largest zit on his neck staring at all of us in the back seat the whole time. We finally make it to Quincy Market...walk around, grab a little snack, and then decide on a bar to get in....we can't get in because Julia "lost" :) her ID so we end up at the Restaurant Cheers for an hour or so walk around Boston some more and then call it a night as we all fell asleep on the taxi ride back to our friends house for the night. Fun 12 hour getaway adventure.
Now I officially have 10 days till I leave...crazy how fast it has flown by.
Countdown Begins:
Only One More Rooming List to figure out (so basically prob. 20 more hours :)
2 more attempts of printing out evals
One more week of the camp store
Last week of seeing that stupid Owl (which we now have 2 of)
Last week of the best camp food this summer
Last week of No AC
Only one more week of answering the phone SoccerPlus this is Kelly
10 more days of being with my family this summer :(
10 more days till I get to see my actual family and friends from home and Jack our dog!
10 more days till it's back to reality and my own big bed....

Bittersweet but still have so much to look forward to in the next 10 days

On a serious note I have learned so much about myself with this internship. Even from Day 1 to today how much I've learned and adjusted...I can now actually explain to people what SoccerPlus

This is what camp will do to you....haha

Driving into Boston

LAST STOP

We have arrived at our last destination for the summer! Crazy to think that this summer is almost over. It has flown by.  We are now currently in the middle of nowhere, Mass. We are at a high school boarding school called Mt. Hermon in Northfield, Mass.  There are two huge dorms because this is the largest camp of the summer. There are about 230 campers at this site so the rooming situation was a struggle to say the least.  After our last hooraaa at Colgate

Me and Julia at the Hour Glass in Hamilton NY

we packed up our things and headed to Northfield. We had a pit stop in Wethersfield, Conn (where I started my journey). Bobby and I stayed at Doody's house for the night, and after meeting a few of his friends and eating Village pizza I was in bed by midnight.  It was the first time in a long time I was able to sleep in my own room with a queen size bed and air conditioning. By mid morning Bobby and I started working on the rooming/living situation and never stopped till the next day.  The whole day was spent erasing names, erasing rooms, redoing the whole list...but at least we were not in a dorm doing this. By 3:00 we were wiped out from staring at the same sheet for 6 hours straight. Our break was when Doody's parents fixed us Lobster and an amazing meal on top of that. We then were on our way to Mt. Hermon, it's about an hour away, in the middle of nowhere and there is barely any cell service, no air conditioning (except the 2nd floor apt where some of the staff is) but nothing different than any other camps....positive note is the food here is excellent!

On top of all the chaos that happens with registration day and pre registration day I lost my voice and thought I was getting sick so I wasn't able to answer the camp phone (tear) and needless to say I was struggling...ha so yesterday after realizing that this sickness wasn't going away I drive myself to an urgent care and the Dr. tells me I have bronchitis and a sinus infection...AWESOME. After some antibiotics and a good night of sleep I am feeling much better and my voice is slowly coming back

There is a new addition to Lord DiCicco's Owl collection that we found in front of Doody's yard. It's just as ugly as the old one...maybe uglier and scarier.

This camp is so big that each program is on their own field

, so I get to drive around in a huge F150 truck (I feel like I'm in the  south driving this massive truck and of course listening to country music with the windows down) around to all the fields making sure they have enough equipment, or giving them bug spray...etc
We have also had problems with bats...we have had to call campus safety at least 3 times because bats have flown into someone's room and they have to catch the bat with a net.

Bobby has ditched me this week to be a stupid fieldplayer staff so it's basically just me now.
Amy-i bought the stick on nail polish and I have the pink sparkly ones on now....girly points?
JJ-there is a six flags here I'm contemplating going there by myself since you are not here with me
Mom- I have a request for your blueberry muffins again
Soccer girls-have fun at preseason without me...enjoy the beep test ...i will be thinking about y'all :)

Would You Claim them as friends?
Peace and Blessings

"Gonna be a good day"

New York is coming to a close for SoccerPlus...after being here for 2 weeks I can call this home more than any other sites because we have been here the longest. These 2 weeks have flown by, I cannot believe it is almost over. Right now Bobby and I are sitting in the camp store jamming out to Disney music (currently playing Eye to Eye from the Goofy Movie) we have also jammed to "Good Day" by Nappy Roots every morning...it can put anyone in a good mood :)

The staff game is today and our team is in the Ship' woooo....after playing a double header yesterday we will take on Drew's team in the final in front of all the campers. Winners win Lord DiCicco's cup which WHEN we win I will gladly throw that thing in the mote.

We had a lot of extra marshmallow's leftover from the bonfire so Thor decided to play Chubby Bunny....

Oh and here are the pictures of the banana's from the story I told you about in the previous blog....we wiped out the store

And this is the bruise I have had for a week now from Drew all because he was mad I beat him in a game of crossbar....haha I'm the little sister he never had so he loves to pick on me

This is the view we get to watch at sunset everyday and it's amazing

Oh and yesterday after pressure training we got to go swimming in the pool and I got to do a couple flips off the diving board...Amy and Dad I did a gainer...proud? because I was scared out of my mind.

Well today I have a couple errands to run and hopefully I will get to meet up with Coach Kristy, my cross country coach in high school who is awesome and they just adopted a little baby boy so I'm hoping to meet up with her later in the day.

Our next stop is Northfield Mass and we are either planning a trip to NYC over the weekend or just stopping in Hartford for a night.

My plans for today are:
Take Pics at the field
Go to the post office and mail off my freaking ticket
Pick up the U-Haul
 Print off some e-vals
Staff Games
Star Wars tonight

I figured out how to get videos off of my phone so here is the chubby bunny video and Bobby's dance to the peacock!
