Golden Star

Hello from on the road to Vegas! I haven't been able to blog in a while because I have not had Internet but found out I can blog from my phone so pictures and videos will be up when I get to an actual computer. So until then you will just have to read and imagine this amazing adventure I have been on for the past few days. Last time I blogged I believe there was one full day of camp left in Indiana. From then on so many things have happened so I will try and remember them all. So the last day of camp I was able to print off the evaluations for the campers in record timing, quick enough to make it to the last training session which was pressure training. I was "initiated" by doing one of the demos, which are usually 45 secs, well mine was a minute , they call it the minute club for any rookies for pressure training. After pressure training and a few lightning scares campers packed up and left. We were then on our way for the start of our journey. Drew, Doody, and I were in the Kia while louis and grubber agreed to take the first shift in the budget. We decided to drive until we got to Topeka , Kansas so we drove thru Indiana Illinois Missouri and Kansas . Illinois was a boring drive and the only thing exciting about Missouri was driving past the arch in St. Louis..after being stuck in traffic for a few hours we finally stopped to find a restroom, however the boys pull off seriously in the middle of the ghetto so all the gas stations didn't have restrooms..awesome. After finally getting situated we were back on the road we stopped at this amazing BBQ restaurant called double J's BBQ and it was delicious. They even had real sweet tea so that was a nice southern meal. After a few more hours of driving and some nice long conversations with the boys we make it to Topeka Kansas for our stop fro the night. The next morning after 7 hours of sleep we head out for Vail...needless to say everyone was pretty excited especially drew who was jumping on all the beds waking everyone up 30 min before our alarms he was so excited. That's where he lives for half the year so he was definitely pretty stoked to get there. Doody louis and I jump in the Kia and head for vail... After about 30 min I smell this smell which I thought was icy hot and come to find out it was dip so that was a funny ice breaker. We take a few stops but the highlight of that drive was the I-70 Diner we stopped at in Kansas, which by the way is the most boring drive ever. This diner was so good and we all got breakfast for lunch and snapped a few pics. We then keep an eye out for tornado's...which thank goodness we don't see any and before you know it we are in Colorado.!! We start seeing the mountains and signs for vail...which was a huge tease because you have to drive through several mountains to get there and there was holiday traffic but the scenery was still amazing to look at. We saw lots of cows and a ward of buffalo that people decided to stop and take pics with. We finally make it to vail thanks to louis' road rage probably made it an hour quicker. We arrive at Cara's families condo which is amazing and their hospitality was out of this world. Such a great family. They were so kind to generously just get us our own condo for the night so after we get settled and situated we all go out to Garfinkel's for dinner and get to know the family and enjoy the amazing views which were unreal. Words or pictures cannot even describe the views here. So after dinner we walk around, hang at the condo, and then since drew knows everyone here setsus up with a ride up the top of the mountainl in the gondola past hours and it was Incredible the stars looked like you could just reach up and touch them and there were a million of them...such a site to see!! Clara her friend rika and I even saw a shooting star. After all the events from the day and sticky. And altitude changes and time changes we were exhausted so we all go back hang out for a little, go in the hot tub, and then get to sleep in till ten which was awesome... Not to mention I got my own room with a queen sixes bed in it.!! So the Kridler's make us this unbelievable breakfast with an amazing view looking out to the mountains and we just relax and watch some of the women's world cup. Mrs Kridler Clara And rika and I all wanted to go shopping downtown and louis decided to come along as well while Grubber decided to bike up a huge mountain and drew and Doody decide to play soccer and juggle around downtown vail... Their was a farmers market going on downtown so there were all these little tents set up with different foods jewelry and neat little gifts. After a few hours we were pretty warn out from the eat and find drew and Doody "pancaking" which Is some type of juggling in the middle of Vail.we all walk back and Clara and her family leave to go to aspen but were so sweet to let us stat one more night in their condo so we just hang out for the rest of the day, go to the pool and snack on some pizza before we leave to go to drew's friends house for a BBQ and then to watch the fireworks in Avon. The BBQ was a blast and everyone there was so nice and welcoming. The firework show was unreal and the longest show I have ever seen. They had these one fireworks that looked like exploding cotton balls they were my favorite :) after hanging around the lie and chatting for a while we head back and drop off grub and Drew downtown. Doody Louis and I just go back and watch tv and chill. So this morning we wake up pack up and head out for Vegas for the 4 th of July...drew decides to stay back with the budget and meet up with us later with the budget so right now it's grub Lois Doody and I are in the Kia heading to Vegas.... Oh ps we don't have a room yet so mamma shaff is searching the Internet looking for one right mow in Vegas... You know were just going with the flow.! :) so we just left Colorado and now in Utah.
